Dr. Henry McCook was an important figure in the field of entomology, or the study of insects. He was a prolific author, writing over 200 books and articles on insects, and he was also a Vice President of both the American Entomological Society and the Academy of Natural Sciences. His most famous work is American Spiders and Their Spinning Work, a three-volume illustrated book that is still considered a classic in the field.
