Description
Lantern slide of the Temple Bar Memorial in London, England. The memorial stands where the original Temple Bar archway once stood as the official gateway into the city of London at the time. The memorial was put in after a remodeled version of the archway was taken down in 1878 to create more space on the roadway. The archway has since then been rebuilt in several other locations. It can be found today, leading into Paternoster Square. The memorial has two statues on its sides (Queen Victoria, and the Prince of Wales) as well as a sculpture on top, of a Griffin.
