Description
Lantern slide, circa 1905, of the Heckling Shed, Irvine, Scotland.
The Heckling Shed in Irvine, Scotland is a small, unassuming building that has a surprisingly significant place in the history of Scottish poetry. It was here that Robert Burns, the national poet of Scotland, was heckled during a performance in 1787.
