Hagia Sophia is the name of this mosque which is located in Istanbul, Turkey which at the time the photo was taken was Constantinople. Originally the mosque was a cathedral but was later turned into a mosque by the Ottoman Empire. Today the site is still a mosque although had previously and briefly it had been turned into a museum.
