Description
Before the globalization of manufacturing and mass production revolution that we have today, most goods, especially clothing, were produced in large factories devoted to the manufacturing of one type of good. In this case, this is the sewing room for constructing shoes. After Henry Ford’s assembly line production style became popular, the steps to assembling goods were broken up into different departments who would specialize in quickly and repetitively repeating a single step, leading to lower costs and faster manufacturing times. During this era, many factories like this were also known for their poor and unsafe working conditions.
