Description

Market Place and Cathedral on market day in Nuremburg, Germany. The Cathedral, known as “Church of Our Lady” or “Frauenkirche” (its German phrase), was built between 1352 and 1362 on top of the rubble of the synagogue of Nuremberg. King Charles IV ordered the synagogue’s destruction to build the Cathedral and support the development of the Market Place. According to the Keystone View Company, on the left is the Neptune fountain and to the right are many booths with goods from the surrounding countryside.
