An image from the reflecting telescope of the Yerkes Observatory, taken by Edwin Hubble, for whom the Hubble Space Telescope was named, showing Uranus and its moons Oberon and Titania. Founded in 1897 by American astronomer George Ellery Hale the Yerkes Observatory was the most modern observatory of the day and continues to operate. At the time the photo was taken Uranus was 1,764,000,000 miles from Earth.
