Description
While the majority of the British Isles have transitioned to the period’s innovations in harvest machinery, the wheat harvests in the hillsides continue to use older tools, such as horse-drawn mowers and plows. Many of these harvesting tools are imported to England from America and are easily found in local hardware shops. However, most farmland is owned by larger estates and many farmers can only rent the fields at best. As a result, many fields appear “run down” and crop farming has grown more rare in England.
