Description
“Laguna del Inca” is a lake within the Andes Mountains often called “the jewel of the Andes” for its bright, shifting blue and green colors. According to Incan mythology, a man was to be wed to a beautiful princess in the mountains, but she fell and died on the day of the wedding. So the man buried her in the lake, which suddenly took on its blue-green color, the same as the woman’s eyes. The lake is said to be enchanted with the spirit of the princess.
