This lantern slide depicts a dining room with a living room in the background decorated in the Romantic interior design style. The Romantic style was a design preference in the United States in the Nineteenth and early Twentieth Centuries, involving a revival of design styles from the Victorian and Rococo styles. Antique furniture, both real and reproductions, extensive lace and textile items, and other decorative motifs were essential components to the style and can be clearly seen within the image.
