Abstract
A tani (literally 'cry') is a funeral dirge for a person who recently died. It usually describes the special traits of a person that made him/her distinctive. This tani was for a young person who loved to fish. It was performed by a group most likely led by Reuben Tenai on Sikaiana in the Solomon Islands, probably in 1981.
