Description
The Hudson River Valley is one of the most important regions for early American history, as the Hudson River and the surrounding valley was one of the first explored settlements upon colonization. Like many large rivers and valleys on the north-east coast of the United States, the Hudson River Valley was a central place for settlement due to easy access via the Hudson River. It was first explored by settlers in 1609 by Henry Hudson, who the river and surrounding region is named after.
