The St. Mary’s Falls Ship Canal, or popularly called the “Soo Canal,” is one of the busiest canals in the world. It connects Lake Superior and Lake Huron. The Soo Canal was build to help boats get across the rapids between the two lakes in the river known as the St. Mary’s River, which is about a mile wide.
