Amon Carter Museum documents that the Keystone View Company, the publisher of these lantern slides, includes some information with the slide encouraging educators to show that non-American students learn the same material, play the same games, and look similar to them.
Marina Alves Amorim discusses a phenomenon in "Brazilian and Foreign Education" that he refers to as "internationalization. This is when either Brazilians will study abroad or seek out local "international" schools to be more competitive and/or compensate for a lack of educational opportunities/infrastructure due to the historical Portuguese empire.
