Description
The Tower of London in London, England, was used as a prison that housed people who displeased the King or Queen from 1100 to 1952. The Tower not only was a prison, but a residence and community for royalty. Now, the Tower attracts many tourists to view and indulge in its rich history. The palace guards (Yeomen Warders), a unit of soldiers, and the Resident Governor still live within its walls.
