Description
The Duomo di Milano (Milan Cathedral) was continuously worked on throughout the centuries. Construction began in 1386 and was finished in 1965. The architecture is a mix of Italian Gothic and Renaissance styles. Many famous artists, like Leonardo da Vinci and Donato Bramante, worked on the cathedral. It has also hosted prominent men; Pope Martin V consecrated the high altar in 1418, and Napoleon Bonaparte was crowned as King of Italy there in 1805.
