Description
A part of the Peruvian Central Railway, the Oroya Railway, first opened in 1878 situated in the Andes Mountains of Peru. The railway was built by American engineer Henry Meiggs in order to connect a major port to towns, cities, and mines throughout the Central Mountain Range of the Andes. The train mainly carries minerals and other goods but at times will carry passengers for tours.
