Description

One of the most historically important agricultural activities in Colorado. The sugar beet industry proved that the deserts of Colorado were ecologically diverse and perfect for seasonal agriculture. In the 1860's, this land was removed from indigenous tribes such as the Cheyenne, Arapaho, and Kiowa to colonize and begin production.
