Description
Colombo is the capital of Ceylon, or what is now Sri Lanka. Famous for its tea plantations, production of rubber, and precious stones, Colombo also has a valuable port and is the largest city of Sri Lanka. Colombo's port has been an important resting and trading site for east Asian travelers and merchants for over 2000 years. Steamers and catamarans alike take refuge in its waters.
