Description
Road making at this point in China's history was done almost entirely by people, as opposed to animals or machines, owing to the fact that many places in China were overpopulated. Here is pictured several workmen pulling a heavy street roller, while others guide them in the path that the road will take. Nanking, also known as Nanjing, where this picture is taken, has a lot of biodiversity with resources that lend themselves to people living there. It is also one of the biggest ports in China.
