Description
Built of limey deposits, this section of hot springs in the Yellowstone National Park cascades heated water down terraces of travertine. Angel Terrace has dramatic periods of hot spring activity, causing large volumes of water to flow from the park's larger thermal basin, Mammoth Hot Springs. The deposits are ever-changing and form from where hot water saturates. The trees growing from the water are now dead, killed from the buildup.
