Description
The alpine horn, also called an alphorn, is a traditional Swiss wooden instrument. The horn is made from one piece of wood, typically wood from a red pine tree. The horn usually measures 12 feet long, and is narrow with a larger, flared opening at the end. The instrument was used by mountain shepherds to communicate with one another and to call their cattle in from the fields
