Description
At first, Atlantic City was a resort that developed in the 1850s when a railway from Camden was built. Atlantic City became a major vacation resort from the late 1800s to early 1900s. During this time, the city grew popular for its boardwalk, amusement piers, floor shows, and beauty pageants. Many visitors also came to enjoy the beach, as seen in this image.
