Sikaiana: Honiara 1980-93

Slides from Honiara, 1980-93, taken by Bill Donner as part of ethnographic research among the Sikiaiana people.

Honiara is the capital of the Solomon Islands. It was original built around US military facilities after World War II. People from many different parts of the Solomon Islands migrate there. During many stays from 1980-93, there were several hundred Sikaiana people there, more than resided on their home island.
