These are photos taken by the US Navy during World War II on Ontong Java, in the Solomon Islands. They are from the US National Archives. I include them because they may be of interest to the people there. Sikaiana people share many cultural and linguistic similarities with these people.. Sikaiana also has legendary, historical and present-day associations.
