Description
Connecting modern-day Zimbabwe and Zambia, the Victoria Falls Bridge over the Zambezi River was, at the time of its opening in 1905, the highest bridge in the world and remains a landmark today. Part of the uncompleted Cape to Cairo Railway that sought to span the entirety of Africa from Cape Town, South Africa to Cairo, Egypt, the bridge was the engineering highlight of the project.
