Description
In the early 20th century, Trenton NJ used to be the center of Pottery manufacturing in America. The picture and accompanying note discuss Trenton's centrality, boasting a whole 48 pottery establishments in the city.
Trenton Manufacturers invented the mass production of white graniteware, which led to the United States, and more specifically Trenton, being able to outcompete England and Chinese pottery. Unfortunately, the great depression led to a great plummet of the industry and mass closures.
